Artist Profile

Emily Sweet is an internationally published and award-winning artist who specializes in photography, fine art and creative writing. From publishing work in peer-reviewed philosophy journals and comic books to creating virtual reality exhibits for Ontario’s Science Centre, Emily has shown and published her creations in a wide variety of places. With degrees in teaching, art, English and philosophy, she has a variety of interests and specialties. Emily has a passion for helping people with mental illness, winning a hall of fame award in 2019 for changing service dog legislation in Canada. That same year the documentary “Emily & Koby’s Story: My Dog is My Therapist” was created and shown at Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema in Toronto.

  • SKETCH provided materials, studio space and a mentor to assist in the completion of various mixed-media projects including furniture design and mixed media artwork using acrylic ink, embroidery, watercolor and/or pens.
